The College of Sciences Science Scholars Program connects undergraduate students with faculty and staff mentors through Focus Interest Groups (FIGs) centered on shared academic, career, research, and professional interests.
Through small mentoring groups, students build connections, explore opportunities, establish goals, and receive personalized guidance throughout the academic year.
A Focus Interest Group (FIG) is a small group of students paired with a faculty or staff mentor around a shared topic or area of interest.
Each FIG focuses on a particular area, such as academic success, career pathways, research, graduate education, or professional development.
As part of the Science Scholars Program, students may apply to multiple FIGs based on their interests. Selected students will be assigned to one FIG based on their interests, program needs, mentor availability, and available space.
