The HONEY Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) program is designed for undergraduate students interested in pursuing graduate school or professional careers and to engage them in research or creative work within their field or a related discipline. The HONEY SURE program offers a unique opportunity to immerse students in scholarly exploration. Under the mentorship of UTSA faculty researchers, selected students will embark on an 8-week research journey during the summer.
Through hands-on experience and guidance from faculty mentors and graduate or postdoctoral mentors, participants will carry out research projects focused on honey and honeybees related to their mentor's field of study.
Each student will receive a stipend of $3,000 for their full-time commitment to research, averaging 40 hours per week or 320 hours over the course of 8 weeks. Students need to register for at least one course at UTSA during the summer to receive the stipend.
Applicants are recommended to identify a faculty research mentor when applying to the program. If no faculty mentor is specified, students will be matched with available faculty mentors. Don't miss this opportunity to gain invaluable research experience and explore your passion for honey and bee-related studies at UTSA!
