Program Assistants (PAs) in the College of Sciences Student Success Center (COS SSC) play a vital role in fostering student engagement and success. As part of our team, PAs help design and implement programs that promote academic achievement, professional development, and a strong sense of belonging among students across a wide range of scientific disciplines.
What We Do
Through collaboration and creativity, Program Assistants develop and facilitate workshops such as the Science Identity Series, creating opportunities for students to explore their identities in science, connect with campus resources, and build confidence in their academic and professional journeys. In addition to program development, PAs promote initiatives through social media and the Periodic Talks podcast, helping extend the reach and impact of COS SSC services.
From planning events to executing large-scale COS and University of Texas at San Antonio programs, Program Assistants help bring ideas to life. In doing so, they gain valuable experience in leadership, communication, and program development while contributing to a supportive and vibrant community that empowers students to succeed.
