What did your journey to UT San Antonio look like?
This year marks my 20th year at UT San Antonio—and what a journey it has been! I began my career here in the Department of Biology, where I spent about two years as an Administrative Assistant I. It was a wonderful introduction to the university and truly laid the foundation for everything that followed.
From there, I made my way to the Department of Civil Engineering, where I spent a decade growing both personally and professionally. I started once again as an Administrative Assistant I and, through hard work and dedication, worked my way up to Administrative Manager—a role I'm incredibly proud of. Those ten years taught me so much about leadership, collaboration, and the inner workings of a thriving academic department.
My time in Civil Engineering came to an end when I moved to the Interdisciplinary Learning and Teaching (ILT) Department to accept an Administrative Services Officer II position. That experience broadened my perspective even further and reinforced my passion for supporting the people and programs that make UT San Antonio such a special place.
I then carried that role with me to the Department of Mathematics, where I advanced to an Administrative Services III and have proudly served the past four and a half years. Every step of this journey has been a privilege, and I look forward to continuing to contribute to this incredible university for years to come.

Honestly, my proudest moment isn't just one single day or achievement—it's the work we do every day as a team. Being able to collaborate with an incredible department staff while supporting our faculty and students is something I never take for granted. Knowing that the work we do behind the scenes helps create a better experience for everyone in the College of Sciences is what drives me. Seeing our students succeed and our faculty thrive—that's what I'm most proud of.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
What I enjoy most is simply the people. Whether it's helping faculty navigate administrative processes, supporting students as they work toward their goals, or being a resource for my fellow staff members—knowing that I can make someone's day a little easier is truly rewarding. Every day looks a little different, and I love that no matter what comes my way, I have the opportunity to show up for the people around me.

My ideal Saturday is all about quality time with my favorite people! Whether we're relaxing at home with my husband and our one-year-old, running errands together as a family, or spending the day with family and friends—honestly, as long as we're together, it's a perfect day. This season of life with a little one is so special, and I try to soak up every moment of it!
