Summer 2006: West Texas Field Trip

West Texas and Southern New Mexico are desert areas featuring extensive and noteworthy geologic outcrops and exposures including ancient and recent volcanics, rift valley faulting, mineralization, karst, and evaporated basins. This is one of the best places in the world for studying geology and applying geological remote sensing techniques. Dr. Lance Lambert in the Deptartment of Earth and Environmental Science will lead the 10-day field trip. In addition to the 10 MORE Science students, eight geology majors will join the field trip. Dr. Xie will be in the first part of the trip and Dr. Ponomarenko will join the last part of the trip.
