Please tell us about yourself.
I'm a proud Roadrunner, program and operations leader and a strategic project management professional who enjoys building relationships, improving processes, and helping others succeed. Earlier in my career, I had the opportunity to work with military families in Kentucky, an experience that strengthened my appreciation for community and service. After six wonderful years, I realized how much I missed San Antonio, the Tex-Mex food, the unique small-town feel with big-city opportunities, and being closer to family and friends, so I made the decision to move back to San Antonio. Outside of work, I enjoy reading, trying local restaurants, and spending time with the people who matter most.
What did your journey to UT San Antonio look like?
My journey to UT San Antonio has truly come full circle. As both an alumnus and a former staff member, UT San Antonio has been an important part of my personal and professional growth. I've always been inspired by the university's commitment to innovation, research excellence, and student success, and it's rewarding to contribute to an institution that has had such a meaningful impact on my own life.
Over the past 10+ years, I've had the opportunity to support faculty, research administration, and executive operations across UT San Antonio and UT Health San Antonio. My career has evolved from program coordination into leading complex operational initiatives, faculty-facing programs, executive searches, and institution-wide projects. Throughout that journey, I've found that what I enjoy most is helping people succeed, whether that means improving processes, supporting faculty, solving complex challenges, or building strong partnerships across departments.
Returning to UT San Antonio feels like coming home. I'm excited to continue supporting our faculty and contributing to the College of Sciences while learning from the incredible colleagues around me. As I continue my journey, I hope to continue growing as a leader within the university by building collaborative teams, driving meaningful improvements, and helping advance the mission of teaching, research, and service that makes UT San Antonio such a special place.
What is your proudest moment with the College of Sciences?
Although I'm new to the College of Sciences, my proudest moment so far has been joining such a welcoming and dedicated team. I'm excited to support our faculty and contribute to the college's continued success.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
I enjoy working with people and finding ways to make processes easier and more efficient. Knowing that my work helps faculty focus on teaching and research makes every day meaningful.
What has been the most rewarding part of your work in this role?
The most rewarding part has been getting to know the faculty and staff and learning how I can best support them. Building those relationships is the foundation for everything we accomplish together.
What does your ideal Saturday look like?
My ideal Saturday starts with a good cup of coffee, followed by time with family and friends. Whether it's exploring San Antonio, trying a new restaurant, reading a good book, or simply relaxing at home, I enjoy slowing down and recharging for the week ahead.
What are some of your book recommendations?
Two books I often recommend are The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho for its inspiring message about following your purpose, and Good to Great by Jim Collins for its practical insights on leadership, teamwork, and building organizations/teams that thrive.
