Please tell us about yourself
I was born in Knoxville, TN and grew up outside of Green Bay, WI, so I'm that UT fan and a huge Green Bay Packers fan! My husband and I recently moved to San Antonio with our two cats and excitement of avoiding the WI winters. I enjoy running, watching football and soccer, and meeting up with friends and exploring our new city.
What did your journey to UTSA look like?
Prior to working at UT San Antonio, I worked in the University of Wisconsin System at both UW-Green Bay in the Chancellor's office and at UW-Madison. My last role was working with the Chair of Mechanical Engineering; so, when we moved to San Antonio, I knew I wanted to continue my work in higher education, and UT San Antonio seemed like the next step.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
I've enjoyed working with engineers and now scientists, because they are always a little curious, and I appreciate it. Always wanting to know a little bit more as to why something works a certain way. I enjoy that the most when talking with faculty about their research.
What are you most looking forward to in this new role?
I'm most looking forward to working with College of Sciences departments and leadership to enhance the mission of the college.
How would you spend your ideal Saturday?
My ideal Saturday is meeting some friends at The Pearl for a run or coffee, or both. Making a stop at Costco and then going to dinner with my husband. Concluding by watching The Great British Bake Off or one of our other comfort shows and hanging with the kitties.
