Please tell us about yourself
I was born and raised in Denver, Colorado. I attended Colorado State University in Ft. Collins, Colorado. I married a Texan who was living in Denver. We eventually moved to San Antonio, and then to Boerne. I worked with my husband at our family clock and watch repair business while raising our three young sons before coming to UTSA when they were older.
What did your journey to UTSA look like?
I joined UTSA as a Senior Secretary in the Math, Computer Science and Statistics Department in the College of Science and Engineering (COSAE). I handled purchasing, travel, and student support. I transferred to the new Computer Science Department when it was created a year later and began working with department budgets, grants, student support, and human resources processes. I worked there for 26 years advancing to the position of Admin Services Officer II. I joined the COS BSC in 2020 when they moved all financial processes there.
How would you describe your role at UTSA in 10 words or less?
Team Lead for BSC Team 3 working to assist Computer Science, Physics and Astronomy, and Math with their financial and human resources requests.
What is your proudest moment with the College of Sciences?
When I was awarded one of the first Staff Service Awards for the College of Sciences in 2016. It was an honor to be recognized by the CS faculty and the College.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
I enjoy working with the faculty and staff to assist them with their financial needs and human resources processes so they can focus on their research and teaching. I am fortunate to work with a great group of people in the COS BSC, which makes coming to work more enjoyable.
What does your ideal Saturday look like?
On Saturdays in the fall, you will find me attending UTSA football games or Texas Tech football games. I also enjoy spending time with my family and five grandchildren, spending an afternoon at a local vineyard listening to music, or spending a day at the coast with family and friends.
