Jean-Luk Rueda, Senior Program Manager, Department of Chemistry

Please tell us about yourself.
Born and raised in San Antonio, UTSA has always been home to me. I have worked at UTSA since 2010. In my free time, I love to travel the world and attend music festivals. I like to be out and about while always looking for my next adventure. I enjoy experiencing new things I haven't done before!

What did your journey to UTSA look like?
I completed my undergraduate here at UTSA and received my Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. Once that was accomplished, I also obtained my Graduate Certificate in Project Management. I am applying for the Master of Business Administration (MBA) for the upcoming Fall semester to be completed here at UTSA once again! UTSA is a wonderful institution which is why I keep returning for my degrees here.

How would you describe your role at UTSA in 10 words or less?
Supporting undergraduate chemistry students through administrative support and awesome events!

What is your proudest moment with the College of Sciences?
Planning for ChemFest has been very rewarding. This is our largest event in the Spring semester which recognizes our graduating Chemistry students. It has been a blast planning a fun and rewarding event.

What do you enjoy most about your job?
Higher education is extremely important to me. I have enjoyed being able to support our UTSA students, departments, and various campus partners. I enjoy planning events for everyone to attend to learn about services offered while also having fun!

What does your ideal Saturday look like?
My ideal Saturday starts with breakfast at my favorite Mexican restaurant near my house. Followed by spending time with my three pugs and relaxing at home. If I have no plans with friends and family, it is a good time to catch up on some of my favorite reality TV shows.
