(November 2007) – Kudos to Khalid Ali Syed for winning the Sam Kaplan Award – 2nd prize for the best poster presented at Texas Branch Meeting of the American Society for Microbiology held at Sam Houston State University November 15-17, 2007. The title of his poster was "Regulation of virulence genes by the Vibrio cholerae flagellar regulatory hierarchy." Khalid is in his fifth year of Cellular and Molecular Biology doctoral studies in the laboratory of Dr. Karl Klose.
