Please tell us about yourself.
I find fulfillment working in higher education and enjoy reading and learning languages. After recently moving from Austin to San Antonio, I continued studying French then picked up Latin. In combination with my native Spanish, it provides a good foundation for Romance languages in general.

What did your journey to UTSA look like?
My previous work with UTRGV and UT Austin made a difference in students' educational development. As a former work study and full-time staff member for the UT Austin accounting department, I was able to provide financial guidance to those beginning their educational journey. My immigrant background truly resonated with families and first-generation students; sharing my experiences helped foster a closer community.

How would you describe your role at UTSA in 10 words or less?
Essential, holding everything together with precision.

What is your proudest moment with the College of Sciences?
Working alongside amazing individuals with diverse ideas and perspectives.

What do you enjoy most about your job?
I thrive in the university environment, where diversity is embraced, and every day brings new learning experiences. Incorporating different ideas has changed the way I approach certain tasks, such as studying new software, familiarizing myself with policies, and interacting with various departments across campus.

What does your ideal Saturday look like?
My ideal Saturday starts with a cup of earl grey, followed by a chapter of my current read, Cien Años de Soledad by Gael García Márquez. I like to tailor my books to the seasons of the year (ex: Lolita for Spring, Dracula for Fall, The Death of Ivan Ilyich for Winter, etc.). I’m planning to resume Ovid’s Metamorphoses for summer soon.
