John Quarles, Ph.D., Department of Computer Science

Please tell us about yourself.
I am an Associate Professor of Computer Science. I conduct research in virtual and augmented reality. I have multiple sclerosis. I am a musician. I have a brave wife and two brave daughters.

How would you describe your role in 10 words or less?
We make video games to save the world.

What is your proudest moment with the College of Sciences?
Watching kids with disabilities smile when they play our virtual reality games.

What do you enjoy most about your job?
Collaborating across disciplines to come up with new research ideas.

What does your ideal Saturday look like?
Writing songs and playing video games all day by myself.
