Blain Mamiya is an Associate Professor of Instruction in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Texas at San Antonio. His laboratory investigates methods to aid in student success in STEM.
He is interested in how mathematics skills, students' prior experiences, and the role these experiences play on motivation, attitudes, and self-doubt. Much is known regarding the effect of these experiences on student success but little is known regarding any solution.
