Professional Development Workshop on Extreme Environments
June 5-6, 2023

We are extremely pleased to offer a fourth year of professional development opportunity this summer: a two-day workshop to expand content knowledge on Extreme Environments.

A National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) funded grant makes it possible for us to invite science teachers to join us this summer for exciting learning opportunities with Professors Steven Ackley, Christopher Combs, Alberto Mestas-Nuñez, and Alan Whittington, renowned experts in the field of Extreme Environments at the University of Texas at San Antonio.

Each session will include presentations, demonstrations, and experiences with current technologies used in the field of Extreme Environments (please see the table below).

Each teacher will receive two days of experience with current research and access to hands-on materials to take to the classroom. Limited funding is available for selected participants. You must attend all sessions to receive compensation.

  • Each workshop day begins at 9:00 am in BSE 2.102.
  • AM sessions are 9:00 am - 12:00 pm; PM sessions are 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm.
